Teen/Princess Requirements
A young woman may compete at the local and state level more than once, but may only compete in the national Miss America competition one time.
Be a female by birth.
A contestant must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency by July 30th of the year she competes in the Miss Tennessee Pageant.
Resident of Tennessee six months prior to the local pageant.
Be no younger than 17 at the time of the local competition. (17 year old juniors are considered teens.)
A contestant shall not be older than 24 years of age on December 31, 2011.
Be a citizen of the United States of America.
Be of good moral character.
MISS SHELBY COUNTY: Open to the state of Tennessee
MISS MEMPHIS: Be a resident of the listed counties; or attend a college or university in the listed counties; or be a full-time employee in the listed counties.

Not be married, never have been married, never have had a marriage annulled, never cohabitated or have had a child.
Be available for public appearances during the 2011 pageant year as Miss Memphis/Miss Shelby County.
Must sign and agree to the terms of the Miss America Contestant's Contract. Complete the Miss Contestant's local application.

Ages 13 to 17 (Outstanding Teen cannot be a senior in high school)
A resident or student in the state of Tennessee for at least six months
May not have graduated from high school before the start of the MAOT National Finals, except for 16 year olds who graduated early.
May not turn eighteen (18) years of age on or before August 31 of the year of the National Finals in which she will compete.
Not eligible to compete in the Miss America Pageant.
Is and has always been a female.
Has never been married.
Is not pregnant and has never been pregnant nor the adoptive parent of any child.
Of good moral character and not been involved in any act of moral turpitude.
In good health and can participate fully in any Program activities.
Be enrolled in an accredited public, private or home schooling program with passing scores (passing score as determined by state accreditation score) in academic and citizenship grades.
MISS TEEN SHELBY COUNTY: Open to the state of Tennessee.
MISS MEMPHIS PRINCESS: Be a resident of the listed counties and attend school in the listed counties.
