This past weekend my parents and I drove to Jackson, TN for the finale of the Miss Tennessee Pageant. After arriving my mother and I took our seat for an outstanding and memorable night. We were there to cheer on my fellow Memphis titleholders, Brooke and Anna Rene. Although I was not there the preceding nights I heard that they performed beautifully. Even with the outcome, from just seeing them onstage, I am very proud of them! It was very exciting to be able to have the overview of the top 15 since I was not able to make it the previous nights. Many of the talents were exceptional and I was glad to be able to take part in seeing them. It was also great to finally see and catch up with Shay and the Depew's!!! After the pageant, we went to basically the only open restaurant at TGI Fridays where we saw half of the crowd from the pageant for some well need nourishment!

Last saturday I went to the Lichterman Nature Center to help out with the Ignite a Dream Team for earth day. It was a great experience! I got to pet and learn about a falcon and a opposum. They are also had a new type of car on display that is run on vegetable oil, I believe! Around 11 there was a small parade for anyone who wanted to could get a costume of some animal fashion and parade around. I helped with the food station. We had chicken and vegetable kabobs, which i must say were AMAZING! Props to the chef! My favorite part was getting to have my picture taken with the children there, they all wanted a hug after and they all got one if not three! I was a fun experience!!

This past weekend was the Miss Tennessee Outstanding Teen Pageant in Martin, TN. My family and I headed out, after forgetting a pair of shoes and returning home, about six on Friday afternoon to get settled. On Saturday all the girls had our first initial meet before our interviews. After this we headed over for rehearsal to learn the dances for the opening and closing of the pageant, which was to the spirited high school musical track. This was a very enjoyable and fun activity to get to know the other girls! After this we all were allowed to leave and get prepared for the pageant later in the evening. Once we returned you all know the routine; we went to dressing rooms and went through the intro., fitness, talents for the teens, formal wear, and finale. I must say everyone I had the privilege of seeing looked and preformed stunningly! I must also thank the Memphis cheering section for their amazing support!! I had an amazing time and gained a lot of experience!

On Valentines day I experienced my first outing as the new Memphis Princess 08. It was the groundbreaking for the new Le Bonheur Hospital. When we first arrived we all received a red Le Bonheur scarf and pin. During the ceremony both Mayors A.C. Wharton and Herrington spoke while there were also two videos of Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker speaking. Throughout the speech we were incircled by many different choirs and nurses, who stood in the shape of a heart dressed in red. For the closing of the ceremony Kallin Esperian sang while the children began digging with hearted shaped shovels. This was an amazing event and I was so glad to take part in this. It was a splendid valentines day first outing.
