Nicole Jordan, a senior at Briarcrest Christian School, has been crowned Miss Memphis 2006.
Eleven women competed for the title this week at buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center. The contest focuses on talent, beauty, intellect, and personality.
Nicole, 17, will serve as the city's ambassador and will promote her platfor, "SAFER - Sexual Abstinence for Endless Reasons."
She won a $1,000 cash scholarship, in-kind tuition scholarships to colleges and universities, other prizes, and the chance to compete at the 2007 Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant in June in Jackson.
The contest, in its 60th year, is presented by the Memphis Jaycees.
